Reinstalling Windows XP SP3

I'm trying to reinstall xp pro on my desktop. It hangs when it gets to "installing drivers" with 35 minutes left. If try to turn it off ans start over it goes back to the same point in the installation. Anyone have any ideas?

Setup stops responding with 34 minutes remaining

Probably hardware. Look through that post. Disconnect all unneeded hardware (especially if you have an internal card reader... seen that cause a problem many times)...

So what was it ?

There was a random USB cable plugged in.. I unplugged it and voila!....it installed fine.
