Retrieving deleted picture files from external hard drive

Hi All,

My brother accidently deleted all of my photos which were stored on an external hard drive when syncing the drive to the computer. Don't ask how!

I was wondering what is the best software program or method to retrieve the deleted files. I appreciate I probably won't be able to get them all but there were 100s so I'm hopeful.

If anyone knows any free software out there that could do the job can you please recommend one that will work?

No guarantee, but if its plugged into the pc, you might try going to Start>search>Click where it says Pictures, music or video click it & put a tic in the pictures box & click search. It might even find pictures on your harddrive. Good luck.

Yes, Recuva is free and good. The important thing, for which I make this post, is not to do any more work or put anything else on the drive with the photos, because it may overwrite the photos and you won't be able to recover them then.
