Roblox CEO tells parents to keep kids off the platform if safety is a concern

No, the true solution is not to provide a mechanism for predators easy access to children.
The problem with that is that someone can unpredictability become a predator at any time

Thus the need to proactively and preemptively prevent access. Whether Roblox likes it or not, they are responsible and obligated for protecting their target audience.

If you want someone to stop thought crimes then you are so outside of this conversation that I refuse to participate in it.

That's ok, you're failing to see the forest for the trees anyway. See ya!

Children should never be left alone with an internet connection. It's exactly like letting them roam in the streets, digitally.

You're refusing to see the bears in the forest
Super clever comeback... The difference is that I'm promoting safe practices from a company that needs to take a more proactive role on the matter, something they have effectively stated they're not doing.

You are arguing against that. Yeah. You were saying what now?

I agree (not that my opinion matters) that the parents have the responsibility of protecting their children from both physical & other harm. Do not use the TV as a babysitter, etc., & know there are many things that are inappropriate for young children; children of certain ages, etc. Perhaps that is why public libraries have children's sections, where it is (assumed) they will not be exposed to adult content.

"Parents concerned about the content or interactions their children might encounter on Roblox should keep them off the platform." <-------------- Couldn't have said it better. This, is just part of what a parent is supposed to do, protect their children. It's, their job!

While that's true, it is our responsibility, it's not exclusively our responsibility. That is what the above user, yourself and Roblox seem to be missing.
So, would you agree with the statement:
"It takes a village"?

While I agree that living in the city likely makes it more difficult to protect kids from exposure to things unfit for their age, than it would be in small towns, it is still the parents' burden & duty.

It is (ought to be) unreasonable to expect the city to take on that burden. If the city chooses not to take the burden, are the parents helpless? are they not responsible?
