Router- Five year-old Compaq not browsing

Hi,

Please help.

I am really sick of Belkin's phone support help that does nothing but read from a list telling you to turn on and off your router. You practically have to cry before they put you through to a real tech! And of course you can't sign in or join their support list online either.

Our router network works perfectly on all our computers except for one Compaq Desktop PC. It shows that it has a connection, but Explorer or Netscape will not work. (The only two browsers he has on it.) We have updated all the software and drivers and they even charged us for it.

Would anyone know what the problem might be?

Thanks

OK; confirming that other systems attached to that router work just fine and only the Compaq Desktop PC is failing to access webpages - - -

Please report the system info: eg Win/XP/Pro, Vista, Win/7 ... ?

Get a command prompt ( start -> run -> cmd ) and then enter ipconfig /all >myTCP.txt
Copy the contents of myTCP.txt and paste that in your follow-up.

We are looking to see how that PC has the networked configured ...

Okay... I am a mac artist since 1987... and I don't know a lot of PCs... so I am going to pass this on to the operator of the machine and get back to you ASAP.
