Hi
I am a user of email client outlook express
my problem is I use internet behind a proxy which is connected only via one http port
I am not able to use outlook because there is no option for proxy in it I use 2007 edition can some one point out what should I do.

the current proxy connection is most likely for port 80 (the browser).
you need information from the Admin of the proxy as to the two email ports (25, 110)

what I know is we need to do portmapping in squid but that is not the case I want to use an application on client that is able to fetch normail emails from the service providers which give POP3 and IMAP access to mail boxes and I can send my mails can you suggest me any software that runs on client machines and has requested features.

Again; the out bound email is on port 25 and inbound on 110 or 143 --- BUT
the network admin CAN block those to your client systems and thus you get NO email
access.

to test if access to POP is possible, you need the pop server name for your mailbox --
frequently it is something like pop.domainname.com

get a command prompt and enter
telnet pop.domainname.com 110
(substitute your pop server name but keep 110)

if the admin has NOT blocked pop3 access, you should get back
+OK POP3 server ready.
If this fails, then it is blocked and you need to discuss this with the admin

just configure your email client {thunderbird , outlook express} for normal access
