A new collector’s edition for Saints Row IV, the third of its kind, was announced by publisher Deep Silver recently. Known as the Game of the Generation Edition, this limited-edition $129.99 bundle is more over-the-top than ever – but that’s exactly what you’d expect from a Saints Row game.

Only 5,000 copies of the bundle are being made which will include a light-up rotating display case with individually numbered plaque, a velvet pouch to store the game in, a replica of the in-game Dubstep gun that just happens to play music, an 8-inch Johnny Gat memorial statue and a pocket-sized Dubstep doomsday button.

The package also comes with DLC content including the Screaming Eagle rocket launcher, the ‘Merica gun and the Uncle Sam character uniform.

The Saints Row franchise started life as a Grand Theft Auto sandbox but has since morphed into a superhero-style title that borrows heavily from games like Crackdown. Based on the gameplay trailer launched earlier this year, Saints Row IV looks to be more outrageous than anything we’ve seen to date. Gamers will battle it out as the president of the US during an alien invasion and will have access to unique alien superpowers and weapons to defend the planet.

The bad news for PC gamers is that the special edition kit will only be available for console gamers. Either way, the game is expected to drop for the Sony PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and the PC on August 20.

Haha! :)
I only played saints row: the third during free weekend play and found the game to be funny :)
; I did not buy it during steam's summer sale.
I hope that the next saints row game will be more funny (and costs less for the 'normal' game edition)
