Security programs to keep Windows 7 safe

Hello,
I am trying out different firewall and antivirus programs. I have used Norton in the past but find it bulky. Any suggestions? I use Windows 7 64bit edition.

Um, why don't you just download and install, "Microsoft Security Essentials", while you wait for more answers

BTW, the Windows firewall has been beefed up quite a bit in Win 7.

I'd recommend the same. My current expensive security solution has caused me so many problems that I've removed it and installed Microsoft's security package. It is so much faster and reliable. No more false positives and program conflicts - touch wood. And it's free.
