Sims 2 expansion pack help (Win8)

I just got what is the best Sims game in my opinion, Sims 2 with 2 expansions that are NightLife and Open For Business and I just put in the NightLife expansion pack, loaded up the CD but the installation won't load up. I take it out, clean it a little, put it back in, run the application in it, it doesn't work. I doo that process one more time but it doesn't work. Someone please help because I had problems with Sims 2 once I got it but I fixed it.

Yeah, and also the Sims 2 updater won't stop crashing on Open For Buisness

Try going to my computer and running the disc manually.
