Sony VAIO died on me......

Okay here is the issue. Went to start my VAIO and after the welcome screen there was a message box that basically said:

..Windows cannot find locally stored profile....

and then said something about

...registery failed...

After clikcing on ok to continue I was informed that there would be a temporary profile created; however as the profile started to install another warning box came up saying:

Advanced INF Install: Could not locate INF file. Inf file 'C:\WINDOWS\INF\EasyCDBlock.inf'

After clicking on ok it continued to install the temp profile however it hangs when setting up the personal settings for Internet Explorer and goes no further.

Suggestions????

The hard drive is going bad. They are not difficult to replace. You will loose all your data if you can't back up the old drive
