Inactive Spybot problem

hi, im having 2 problems that are interlinked, hope you can help.

recently i downloaded ie8
today i ran Spybot, having done the latest updates, and it caused a bluescreen (i ran it twice to make sure Spybot caused it),with the stop error:

Stop: 0x0000008E (0xC0000005,0x804EF196,0xA5314C20,0x00000000)

i tried to uninstall Spybot via add/remove, ccleaner and all programs and each time i get the following error message:

Runtime Error (at-1;0):
Cannot Import dll:C\programFiles\Spybot-Search&Destroy\UninsSrv.dll.

From doing a google search, it recommends downloading the latest version of Spybot and then doing a uninstall. Which leads to my 2nd problem...
I cannot download a file on IE8, just gets to 99% and stops!!!
I unchecked the 'check for signatures on downloaded programs' and some obvious addons but no joy!!!

any help appreciated..

First, get another browser (FF or Opera) and do the download there.

XP/home: are you running from an admin account or an LUA account?
You can't uninstall or install from an LUA account.

find the shortcut to the Command Prompt in Accessories.
Right-click->RunAS
now enter the admin id and the related password.

follow with CONTROL
which will give you the Control Panel running as if you logged on using the Admin.
now you can use Add/Remove.
