Strange Double click issue

Recently, whenever I double click on a MP3 file in My Documents, the file does not open. It will, however, open if I right click and select "opens with"(WMP).
It seems that this issue is specific to MP3 files, as double-click works on everything else. Any suggestions?

I don't know if I have the answer but does the same thing happen when you select the file and hit "Enter"?

If you mean whether or not the file opens this way, I just tried and no it does not open.

Try associating the MP3 file type with WMP. Right click on the file and click on "Open With" like you already do. BUT instead of clicking on WMP, click "Choose Program." Check the box in the lower left that says "Always use the selected program to open this kind of file." Then go ahead and click WMP from the list. This is for Windows XP.

After this, try double clicking on the MP3 file again.

I re-installed WMP11 and all works!!
