At one time I was able to hook my HDMI cable up from laptop to TV & it would NOT show on my laptop, lately it has been, is there a way to fix it?? TIA

Ok, I think the only answer is to go into Power Options & fix it there.

Got that taken care of, is there any possible heat build up chance with lid shut? TIA
Doing this with a laptop open or closed sounds a bad idea to me. Unless it's a recent highly specced model it's an unnecessary risk.
