I haven't checked the logs yet.

What is the error with Svchost.exe and AcGenral.dll?

AcGenral.dll is the Windows Compatibility DLL
(your are using Windows XP, SP3 and IE6)

Okay, thanks. Can you tell me if IP 202.188.0.133 is your ISP or company network? It is for the Malaysia Broadband called Steamyx

It is difficult to be sure when there is no user information and it's a global board. IF it is, leave it. IF it Isn't it should be removed:

Please open HijackThis, and select Do a system scan only.

Place a checkmark next to the following entries (if present):

R0 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Local Page =
R0 - HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Local Page =
O2 - BHO: WormRadar.com IESiteBlocker.NavFilter - {3CA2F312-6F6E-4B53-A66E-4E65E497C8C0} - (no file)
O2 - BHO: (no name) - {5C255C8A-E604-49b4-9D64-90988571CECB} - (no file)
O9 - Extra button: (no name) - {85d1f590-48f4-11d9-9669-0800200c9a66} - C:\WINDOWS\bdoscandel.exe
O9 - Extra 'Tools' menuitem: Uninstall BitDefender Online Scanner - {85d1f590-48f4-11d9-9669-0800200c9a66} - C:\WINDOWS\bdoscandel.exe

Check the following 3 017 entries only IF they do not belong to your ISP or company network)
O17 - HKLM\System\CCS\Services\Tcpip\..\{444F3324-5C74-4D45-B347-C6774C7B0CBE}: NameServer = 202.188.0.133,202.188.1.5
O17 - HKLM\System\CS1\Services\Tcpip\..\{444F3324-5C74-4D45-B347-C6774C7B0CBE}: NameServer = 202.188.0.133,202.188.1.5
O17 - HKLM\System\CS2\Services\Tcpip\..\{444F3324-5C74-4D45-B347-C6774C7B0CBE}: NameServer = 202.188.0.133,202.188.1.5

Then, close all other open windows, leaving only HijackThis open, and select Fix checked.

You have entries for the BitDefender online scanner running in the background. To stop: Find the process in the Task Manager> highlight> End Task.
Then go to Control Panel> Add/Remove Programs> Uninstall BitDefender- may show as bdoscandel

I need more information about the Error itself:

Start> Run> type in eventvwr

Do this on each the System and the Applications logs:

  • [1]. Click to open the log>
    [2]. Look for the Error>
    [3] .Right click on the Error> Properties>
[4]. Click on Copy button, top right, below the down arrow >
    [5]. Paste here (Ctrl V)
    [6].NOTES
    • You can ignore Warnings and Information Events.
EXCEPTION: See if the corresponding Error is proceeded by an Information Event for a Google update. Process will show as approx. 2minutes before the svchost error- entry is: gupdate1c92e04bada9e6a
    • If you have a recurring Error with same ID#, same Source and same Description, only one copy is needed.
    • You don't need to include the lines of code in the box below the Description, if any.
    • Please do not copy the entire Event log.
Errors are time coded. Check the computer clock on when message displays.

The image you left give an app name and a module name but not the source and description. These will be available in the Event Error copy

If the Error has the Information for Google Updates for you, I have a quirky fix!

another error occurred...

C:\DOCUME~1\user\LOCALS~1\Temp\WER1b3e.dir00\svchost.exe.mdmp

Okay! You will find a description of the svchost/AcGenral and hot fix here:
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/894391

A note about the ID1517 Warning, Source: Usernv: you will see a lot of these and don't need to worry. It happens whenever you shutdown without logging off first. It's just a Warning. IF there are multiple users, I suggest logging of first, but if you're the only user, it's not going to make a difference.

FYI: "appcompat" means an application compatibility problem. The "appcompat" itself is not the error.
mdmp indicates a minidump file.

Follow my instructions for the HijackThis log. Don't worry about BitDefender- it's a hidden file.

Let me know if the hotfix resolves the svchost/AcGenral problem.
The Malaysian entries are okay. Do NOT remove.
Run another scan with HijackThis after the removals and hotfix and attach new log.

TS Rookie

Then suggestion is:

Is Dr. Watson enabled on a system where this is happening? Start -> Run -> drwtsn32.exe; note the location specified in the Crash Dump field. Is there a user.dmp file in that location, with a timestamp that matches the svchost.exe crash?
That would be this:
C:\DOCUME~1\user\LOCALS~1\Temp\WER1b3e.dir00\svchost.exe.mdmp

I don't do the minidumps, but there are readers on this board.

I have not been able to get enough information to find a resolution. Please read the information here:
https://www.techspot.com/vb/topic51365.html

Follow the steps given and see if there is a resolution. If not, then post the minidumps. There are members who are experienced in reading the minidumps and should be able to advise you. If you start a new thread, please make reference to the current thread by leaving this URL https://www.techspot.com/vb/showthread.php?p=761958#post761958

Minidumps often identify a device driver that is at fault. Please use this forum on TS:
Device Drivers> https://www.techspot.com/vb/menu23.html

First URL is to read before doing minidumps.
Second URL is to let the helper know what has been done here.
Third URL is forum to post the minidumps.
