Tesla is making drivers pay monthly for features the car already has

Everyone is doing it now, nothing about Tesla or Elon makes it special. This is the game everyone is playing now and the only way to win is to not play. The thing is, enough people keep playing to the point where those of us who don't play end up in the crosshairs.
Everyone, uh-huh, like who?

No, I don't care about your live service game examples, we're talking about cars now.

Im glad I dont have some weird irrational hatred for Elon Musk that clouds my opinions and makes me post hateful things every time I see an article about a company hes involved with.

There's nothing "irrational" about hating Elon Musk. He's working hard, constantly, at all times, to make you hate him. It's the most rational thing you can do.

FSD on Teslas is incredible. They could sell it for $500 a month and people would buy it.

Now THAT is some *irrational* fanboyism, right there. Turn off your reality distortion field. FSD has some 12%-ish take rate, even with the previous permanent purchase option. The fact that you can no longer permanently get this tech for the car you already own will make it even less appealing.

Lease starts at $450. And you say people would pay more for FSD than for the car itself.

No, they wouldn't. That's the most delusional thing, ever.

Speaking of irrational... when did you last look in the mirror?

I honestly pity you.

Weird headline. All Teslas sold for the past several years with HW3 have offered the option to pay monthly for FSD, which a feature "the car already has". Maybe you meant to say " for features previously included", which would be accurate.

BMW and Mercedes Benz offer lots of subscriptions lol. Edmunds reports that others are doing the same: https://www.edmunds.com/car-news/bmw-relents-on-heated-seat-subscription.html

I’m not sure if this is satire but I don’t hate him. Does he want me to hate him too? I don’t see how.

It literally makes no sense that he’s doing things just to make you hate him. In fact using a premise to justify itself is circular logic and by definition irrational. I can also say that you’re irrational because you want to be irrational. It’s true because I said it’s true. And when you reply to this, you’ll be wrong because you want to be wrong. 🤔

They should have waited for a new gen refresh, existing customers shouldn't be punished.

Although 12% usage isn't high, so I suspect the accountants have been looking and realised X number of those are business customers and realised they can charge more for such a feature.

Lets be real most drivers like to be in control. Taking away lane assist seems silly though as that's a standard on a lot of cars nowadays for safety reasons.

If he is willing to pay $500/mo for the feature, he clearly considers it to be valuable... There is nothing irrational about it.

We created a system called a government that's job is literally to protect us from this vampirism.

You mean to say that [sigh] I will actually need to drive my own car, the same old-fashioned way grandpa drove his?

Say it ain't so! :D
