I take your point, but there's a reason I'm a lot harder on my government than the corporations I purchase from: it would be extremely difficult for me to switch governments, especially more than once; while at least in theory I have some choice in who I do business with.

It's a huge business. If you are able to sell a phone hack that is capable of entering a fully secured device then yes you can charge millions of USD. In regards of the FBI - this is obviously national security and they have pretty much a unlimited budget.

I also find it hard to believe that these supposed denials for extra security hasn't been a talking point by the Trump or his associates before or after the shooting. Probably because it didn't happen. Again, this remains to be seen. As to the Secret Service removal by Democrats, you omitted an important detail. This was a bill introduced by a single Democrat that would remove Secret Service detail for ANY President if that President was sent to prison.
