In brief: China's largest manufacturer of 3D NAND Flash chips and 30 other companies will not be able to acquire US technology anymore. The Commerce Department is ramping up its fight with Beijing to curb further development of the country's military capabilities. For the time being, at least.

According to new rumors coming from Washington, the US Government is ready to further increase its pressure on China's high-tech industry. The US Commerce Department is seemingly preparing new, high-profile additions to its infamous Entity List, making the companies involved unable to obtain US-made technology and components.

The list of companies that would be essentially banned from the US market as early as this week, the rumors say, include Yangtze Memory Technologies Co (YMTC) and more than 30 other enterprises. YMTC, a partially state-owned company headquartered in Wuhan, is China's largest manufacturer of 3D NAND Flash products. The company was recently in talks with Apple to provide memory chips for future iPhone releases, but its addition to the Entity List would likely end the discussion for good.

If confirmed, the new decision coming from Washington would be just the latest – and possibly the largest – escalation in the US-China clash over technology provisioning. The Biden Administration is allegedly trying to put even more political pressure on China's communist dictatorship, avoiding further development of companies that are supporting Beijing's military industry.

Yangtze Memory and other chipmaking companies were already put on the US Commerce Department's Unverified List in October, pending inspections of the Chinese organizations by US officials. Once on the Unverified List, companies have a 60-day period to prove that their business is not involved in any activity that could pose a threat to US national security.

This time, Beijing was seemingly willing to co-operate with Washington to avoid losing access to critical US technology, with China's Ministry of Commerce "helping" YMTC and other companies to comply with US official checks to prove they were doing nothing wrong.

The rumored update to the Unverified List would come while the aforementioned checks are still ongoing, making YMTC and other ventures unable to purchase equipment, software and components manufactured by US-based companies. The blacklisting could be just temporary, if Washington and Beijing are still willing to ease the tension a bit, or it could further deteriorate the relationship between the two countries and their respective technology industries.

This only benefits China, its progressive layer - the retrogrades and corrupt officials will have to give in to them on a wide range of issues and lose influence, because. otherwise they will lose with a bang in the NTP race. In this case, the retrograde forces of China will have no choice but to start an external channeling of the anger of the crowd in the increasingly deteriorating living conditions. And the external sewerage of anger is always a big war. And since China 1.4 billion people, the war will immediately become global. Well, it’s not worth reminding who will be their opponent in this war ...

Well, this obvious deglobalization will lead to an automatic increase in prices for SSDs, memory and other chips around the fall of 2023. Until the summer, prices will continue to fall.

Not sure anyone knows how this will play out - but does make you wonder if we will get 2 distinct markets - a USA eccentric one and a developing world one .

Uptown you walk into swanky shops to get your iPhone, laptop etc
Then across the tracks on the other side of town - myriads of products , street hawkers - get your 32Tb nand drive all pre-loaded with latest movies/games - get your escooter that can go 80Km ( 50mph ) .

I know which one is cooler

The majority naively thinks in terms of peacetime as well. Most of you will have no time to watch movies and play games - you will earn food and housing for 16 hours a day, and those who do not agree will be in trenches with knee-deep water.

I don't have facebook - so can't do any research - I may not be a lion - but life at the moment is quite good for us sheep.
As for prepping - I'm just struggling not to get things thrown out - as goes past best buy date - like bottles of emergency water - she never buys any - never suffered thirst and does realize it's 101 uses - Just easier to be a sheep I suppose - at least she's not a big cheese eater - so managed to get her to leave my moldy cheese - small consolations.

Who will we be fighting ? the Chinese, The NWO , Our Saurian Overlords , The Battle of the Last Days - - OMG here's me being naive - it's a civil war isn't it?- just couldn't do - better to bug out

With whom will the majority of the planet's population - the parasitic layers - fight soon? Obviously with the forces of nature. After all, there will be nothing left for them when once again cheap food, clothes, medicines, cold water supply and electricity with gas are not delivered to the shops. And the green economy will immediately go down the drain. And everyone who does not have really valuable, productive skills in the real world will instantly die in the struggle for survival, because. no government will come to their aid and send a rescue helicopter. And about lazy consumerism and idle life will have to be forgotten forever. For at least a few generations...

Took me a few days to reply to this - I'm fortunate to live in NZ - we export most of our food - so self-sufficient - we have hydro, geo thermal , and some solar and wind - these numbers will go up - we also have coal and a coal fire Power Station .
We closed our refinery processing - we can make gas , or extract it = we can make ethanol for older cars - but we are generally not in great shape for diesel , oil , petrol ( gasoline ).
We have a low population respectively to many other countries .
We have lots of water sources .
Our temperature is moderated by sea and ocean.

Most importantly we are one of the more isolated and harder to get to countries.
Was always curious if Covid 19 killed 20% of people under 20 years old - how viscous people would become ( no You Can Not Fly Back to NZ - or must go to quarantine Island for longtime )

But yes many wars have been fought over water and resources - With warming temps = greater floods/droughts and extremes , more diseases- there will be huge population movements and refugees.

Not sure it's as dire as your future - but this century will be the most dramatic in human history - surpassing last century

New Zealand is one of the typical states that are not even close to self-sufficient, even trite in terms of food and clothing. With the collapse of the global economy and the construction of concentration camps (which is actually already in full swing), the standard of living in such countries will fall many times more than in more self-sufficient ones, such as the United States and parts of Europe. No electronic gadgets, household appliances, cellular networks, etc. for you. and all the entertainment - you simply do not have such an industry. As it is not in most countries of the world. And the isolation of the island is unlikely to save from radiation if it comes to that. Yes, and against a pair of aircraft carriers, the New Zealand army will not last even 1 day, if someone from the powerful of this world suddenly wants to occupy the island explicitly.

"Covid" could not kill anyone - this virus does not exist in nature. Which has long been legally proven, including by me on the basis of official documentation.

And about your uncertainty - tell it to those who succeeded in 2007 before the crash of 2008, as well as to those who did not believe in global fascism in 2019 and what the world is rapidly turning into by 2023...

The world, if you believe the statement about 8 billion people, is on the verge of an artificial collapse. And it will inevitably happen, because 8 billion people can be fed and provided with basic needs only if all countries work together. With a fair distribution of the surplus value of labor and the resources of the planet. As well as the fair punishment of criminals. Which no doubt includes the entire class of the super-rich.

After I wrote - above I realized things like Diesel, machine oil, ball bearings were mission critical to farming etc . the govt would seize strategic supplies.

But we definitely could do it - cannibalize etc

2 warships are useless - it's feet on the ground - ie see Ukraine vs Russia - what they going to do - when they have used all their bombs , missiles - go home - we are not cowards in NZ ?

We have a lot of know how in NZ - lots of land for everyone to grow veges, apples , hens for eggs , fishing

Anyone coming to NZ would have to bring something - Plus we Australia to help.

We still have a copper network as well
Water table easy to get to
Can build outside toilets easy
Name a better country to survive ?- other Pacific Islands maybe- but more prone to rising water and storms - but strong community structures in place

Most of the urban population is simply not adapted to agrarian life. Most will die immediately from chronic depression and intolerable living conditions, without medical care and unsanitary conditions. It is a developed and efficient civilization (with a global division of labor) that allows 60%+ of the planet's urban population to exist, most of which are not productive for scientific and technical progress and the development of civilization. Survive then part of the people in such countries. like yours, they will survive, but their life will be gray and dull. Only a well-coordinated global civilization maintains a certain standard of living for the "golden billion". When she is gone, the stores will be empty, as well as at gas stations, and working with your hands is not the lot of many. Most of the machines and equipment, including cars, will immediately fall into decay. The rest of the goods degrade in quality and quantity by orders of magnitude. And after some time, when the carriers of key knowledge gradually die (because knowledge without expert carriers is most often dead), then civilization will roll back centuries.

And judging by what they are doing, the goal is just to rock the "boat" and quickly eliminate the extra 1/2 of the world's population. And then plan B...
