This robot changes tires faster than any mechanic, without even removing the wheel

Then you agree this is a welcome innovation, as the persons running one of these AI-operated bays will require little to no training -- just as AI-assisted paralegals, graphic artists, and thousands of other positions will require less skills than they did before.

The nation that controls the AI industry will be the richest and most powerful on earth, just as Britain ruled a quarter of the world due to its mastery of the tools of the Industrial Revolution.
I get a feeling that "richest nation" can very possibly exclude vast majority of the working age people, in that nation, who used to have the access to a certain comfort level before AI.

I have witnessed change of tires done by a professional who replaced all 4 tyres in under 15 mins. If this robot needs 30 mins to do the same, it is far from efficient.

And I know that some people can replace 4 tires in under 10 mins easily. So 30 mins is super inefficient.

I think you've been watching too much Nascar. No one is going to demount, rebalance, and remount four tires in 20 minutes, much less ten. I've never seen a shop do it in less than 40-45 minutes, and over an hour is far from uncommon.

Nascar people can change 4 tires in under 1 min. I had mine replaced professionally in a garage within 15 mins. I did not include the time for wheels realignment, but that's overthinking it. And besides, I doubt that robot can align wheels well.

You're confused. "Nascar people" do this using four separate individuals, for one -- but most importantly, they're simply bolting on tires that are already mounted on rims and do not require balancing.

No one's talking about wheel alignment; that's an entirely separate procedure. We're talking about tire balancing, which is required for new tires. No shop in the world did this in 15 minutes.

Well no, but the whole sentence makes no sense

"a typical tire service takes about 75 minutes when performed by a human, while SmartBay can do it in just 30 minutes, allowing a single technician to handle up to 24 tires an hour"
6 cars = 24 tires; 3 bays for each tech, one hour for SmartBay = 8 tires at 30 minutes per 4, times 3 = 24 tires. The math works, it's just sloppy writing.
