today i turned my (Toshiba satellite m115-s1061 model no. psmbj6-00g005) laptop on this morning it booted like normal, i started a movie and during the movie the audio sounded like it went from stereo to Mano then the laptop just blinked off. i always use the AC adapter because the battery doesn't hold a very good charge anymore. after it blinked off none of the LEDs in the front are lite up anymore. i tried taking out the battery out and unplugging the AC adapter and holding down the power button for 60 seconds then plugging the AC adapter back in and it still didn't turn on, no lights no sounds of fans spooling up, no nothing. did the PSU die. or is the whole thing fried? i used an voltage meter to test the AC adapter and it is still good. could it be the battery? will this laptop start or even work without the battery? i have built many desktop computers in my life but no laptops i am stuck.

A laptop will start without the battery, they are just a backup power supply, it sounds like the mobo has died and will require the attention of a specialist to diagnose further.

quite possibly the AC/DC adapter is gone now too. Replace both the battery and power pack.
