Shall I install Sevice Pack 3 from here?

Is there anything I need to do before doing the update, I'm scared it'll go wrong!

You should use Windows Updates from Control Panel because there may be some other updates as well.
It'll create fresh restore point as well.

When I go to ~ Start, All Programs, Windows update, its gives a error massage:

The website has encountered a problem

In control panel, System - the tick box is on Automatic updates.

Still not sure how to update to SP3

65% through a AVG scan as we speak, it's showing one threat. Will let you know when the scan is complete what it is.

Just ran MalwareBytes and again AVG and the threats seem to have gone.
