Twitter hit with lawsuit claiming mass firings targeted a disproportionate number of women

This wouldn't be newsworthy if he fired 57% of the men and 47% of the women because nobody coddles to men. enjoy a free unemployment check while you easily find a new career because everyone will feel sorry for you and consider you to be severely mistreated due to this. nobody caaaaaaaaaaares.

I doubt anyone who works in management for a large corporation enjoys having to thread the needle of all the regulations and potential legal exposure around these types of issues, especially when they have personal knowledge their decision making wasn't based on sex / gender / other protected factor.

Still, I'll also add, that plenty of those managers -- or maybe even most of those mangers -- and even at smaller companies with far fewer resources -- still find a way to conduct their layoffs and generally treat their employees in a manner that comes off as a lot less reckless and a lot more concerned with following the law, including having reviewed the percentages for the actuality or even perception of illegal bias and being fully documented to backup anything that doesn't look right at first glance. I have no knowledge of what he did or didn't do, but just on timeframe alone and given the numbers involved it's hard to see how he had enough time to have been particularly diligent about this.

If in the long run he is held accountable by an legal and judicial environment that is unsympathetic to his seeming belief that none of the ordinary rules apply to him, or to him generally having treated every aspect of this takeover as a joke from the beginning, I for one won't lose any sleep over it.

Yes we know everything is misogyny and hatred....or racist or homophobic or you know...something? And we know that even though it's not those things it will be by the time it's over because the religion of social justice will say so.

Your answer is the epitome of what's wrong in a world where hatred, misogyny, xenophobia and racism are normalized and seen as normal and business as usual..

We can thank a certain Orange-Haired US imbecile for making it acceptable, and for his apostles, here and elsewhere, to see nothing wrong with it.

Ha....of course you bring Trump in this.
The problem imo is that...some people...see everything through SJW glasses.
If anything can be construed as bigotry it will be. It's some kind of weird obsession with people these days. It's like a religion for the far left. Of course bigotries exist but when you look for it in everything you're going to see it even when it's not there.
And Trump has noting to do with you seeing bigotry in everything possible. You can think CNN/MSNBC for that obsession.

When men are 47% or 48% how can be possible the women to be over 53% or 52%?! What does a sum of over 100% mean? Are they math or poetry?

And when the company loses 4 million a day, it is obvious that it cannot have so many employees because they do not stay free of charge, they demand to be paid. It is as if someone goes to court and require the court to force someone else to buy something opposite to their free will and without even having money to pay for it.

I would speculate that you're not a woman who worked for Twitter. Am I right, or am I right?

The "truth" these days is a variable, based on whomever spoke last and loudest. That works fine with today's closed minds. BTW, "truth", is no longer predicated upon, or synonymous with "proof"

Have you ever heard of, "Dunning and Kruger" syndrome?
And he took it seriously.

OK, let's put this to bed, by paraphrasing the late, great, US president John F. Kennedy. Best of luck to you "Elon", and may the force be with you.

The rest of you heads up. (Especially those uppity biddies).

"Ask not what Musk can do for you, but ask what you can do to make Musk richer"

Oh, and for those of you camping in at Twitter; "sleep tight and don't let the bedbugs bite". ;)

These ex employees seem to think they are entitled to someone else's property (in this case, Twitter's). I hope all those lawsuits these poor nincompoops filed are thrown out the window.

Well, women are more likely to make decisions that align with the over-emotional woke side of things. They also are a majority in a lot of offices now.
Musk should just move the main office to Florida and get it over with.
Um pretty sure they have women in FL. That's where I'm from (and I'm an engineer) and female is what's on my bc, so not sure I see your point. And "woke" just means considerate of other people's feelings, in previous times called polite, so whatever "anti-woke" is, I'll take "woke" over the guy who farts on the elevator and denies our history of white supremacy. B.T.W. pretty sure 99.99999% of violent conflicts/wars have been started by men. Anger is an emotion even if it's the only one "toxically masculine" men are allowed to express it still counts and it's one of the more destructive emotions. From what I've seen in the office, men are hella emotional.

I've always wondered why there isn't a "White history month", have you? Comparatively speaking, you'd need a calendar at least 10 years long to celebrate it.

And well, men do start wars. But you have to give men credit for ending them as well. Otherwise, you'd be posting in German or Japanese from down in Florida right about now.

Then there's the biological differences between the male and the female of the species. It's technically known as "sexual dimorphism". Which is why females have always been traditionally left out of those nasty wars, ( "the fair sex"), being spared the "niceties" of war, such as trench mouth, limbs blown off, or outright killed. Which left many women free to dwell on intellectual pursuits, such as writing "dear John letters".

Some 22,000 workers died during the construction of the Panama canal. How many do you guess were female?

To this day, (when we're not being pummeled by HIV prep and suppression drug ads), you'll see campaigns for "Wounded Warrior Project". I can't help but notice that it's always men being pushed around in wheelchairs or shopping carts, never the women. Doesn't that come under your heading of discrimination? I suppose you believe they're either "emotional intellectual inferiors", which justifies it for you.

At the end of the day, most women only want "equality", when they're really in the superior position, and out of harms way.

You can try and deny your Victoria's Secret way out of it, but don't you, deep down inside, like to watch men kick the crap out of one another on Sunday afternoons?

More to topic, Musk indiscriminately fired, or had quit, well over half the staff at Twitter. All he has left ATM, are those who can't find a job elsewhere, or those who worship him, and will do whatever they must, to add to his glory and wealth. Sad.

BTW, I live in "da hood", and when I was about 35, I got tagged with the nickmane, "ole haid white m****r f*****r. Hate is a two way street. Although there are those that are so damned "woke", they choose not to notice it

It's really OK for the courts to force someone to buy something they don't have the money to pay for, or have the money and decided not to spend it, if they signed a contract to spend the money beforehand. As Musk did.

Hey Cap. Thanks for explains a bit more deliquiate that there is a difference between men and women, and for a reason.

Back on subject. This shouldn't be a TechSpot article. This is a hit piece. That being said, he's just hoping to get out of the lease so he can move to Texas or Florida.
