HI everyone, I went a little everywhere and cannot find my solution.
(Good with computer, but first laptop)
Laptop information
HP Pavilion 15-e084ca
http://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c03803147
The problem: Once uppon a time, a laptop work.... Then it doesnt!
If I try to boot from a DVD, it apparently do nothing because uefi boot is missing and end up with the same thing.
(USB and DVD seem to not be working for this. Even in the boot options I cannot see them!)
This mean I cannot 'repair' installation and basicly am stuck there .
But! If I turn into legacy mode, I can boot from a cd sunch a windows 7. Now, this bother me because legacy windows 7 ask me to delete my windows 8.1 partition in order to install itself.
This lead me to believe that something is corrupt in the laptop. (I can also hook up the hard drive on another computer and access it just fine...)
So, I have a windows 8.1 hp laptop with a WIM file for recovery. As a first time laptop user, I did not know my factory would be on disk and apparently is impossible to find on the internet... Or is it ? Anyway, when I power up the computer, I do not see the HP logo and it stall there for a max of 1 min I believe before it give me some error 0cx0000185 boot uefi is missing.
My questions are:
Any solution to restore my WIM imagine on my Hard Drive ?
(I can only see about 2GB of data on a drive that seem to have 21GB of data. Which lead to a possibly fail backup on a direct copy)
Would deleting my main windows 8.1 installation still allow me to restore WIM file later ?
Is there anyway to 'backup' the WIM image for later restoration without destroying it's structure ?
I do not have the windows activation key either. So installing another win 8.1 could be problematic.
