Unable to download Firefox

I checked all the posts and don't see us asking this: are you using ANY add-ons, themes or extensions on Firefox. If you are, disable ALL of them. Check the system without and see if it makes a difference.

If it does, put them back on, one at a time, checking the Firefox performance after each.

Bingo! I uninstalled all the add-ons except AdBlock (Had it for years) and the problem disappeared. I will now see which one of my favorite add-ons I can re install. Fortunately I only had five to begin with, so it leaves only four potential bad actors.

Thank you both for your help and perseverance.

I was so surprised when I went back and read the posts an saw that we hadn't suggested this earlier!. It was so obviously a problem specific to Firefox. Add them back, one at a time and monitor the system long enough in between. It may be a conflict between add-ons rather than one add-on in particular.

Good luck, Sherlock.
Holmes, out.

Hi Bobbye,
You are right. It was the conflict between the Fast Dial and Speed Dial. I knew they were doing a similar job but I thought I try them together for a short time, then retain the one I liked better. This worked for a week or so, and I forgot all about the selection.

The interesting thing is that when I added back Speed Dial on it's own it still did not work. When I uninstalled it again and added Fast Dial the problem disappeared.

Thanks again for your help.

You're welcome. Sorry this went to far long without asking about the add-ons! Very glad you found the culprit though and hope you can go on the enjoy Firefox without the interruption.
