Easy choice this week, Akki, loved my old GTX 480, and kept it kicking until last August when I won a GTX 960 at QuakeCon. I also loved the case modding he had to do, simple but effective.

oh thats awesome. I had to save up an entire week of 'pay' to get my 970 off craigslist :p

Looking at the numbers, this isnt even close. Sure hope Akki enjoys his much needed upgrade. He was definitely the most deserving of one this week! Love the series, keep it coming!

Here is what I think:
#1 Akki ‘Akatsuki’ from New Zealand
This computer look quite well as it is.
Replacing the Core i5-2300 with a Ryzen 5 1400 would be nice, but I'm not sure it's that critical. Same goes for the case.

#2 Ray ‘Old M8’ from Australia
This looks like s good computer to me. The CPU might be a bit old, but other than that the computer seems great. As for the dead fans - just buy new ones - there is no reason to replace the entire case because of that.
That being said, this is the most worthy computer for an upgrade.

#3 Carson ‘Stacy’ from the US
This looks like a great computer to me - good CPU, a lot of RAM, good graphics card, great SSD and hard drive, nice PSU and an effective CPU cooler.
Replacing the case would be nice but not very important. As for the current GTX 970 graphics card - this is a very good card and I'm sure many people would like to have a card like that, like all the other computer owners in this episode. I don't think upgrading it to a GTX 1070 is very important.

#4 Rob ‘Cap'n Kitten’ from the US
This is yet another good computer with great components.
I think adding a SSD to this computer is a must, but upgrading the graphics card is not.

#5 Jayden ‘Ye Ol' PeeCee’ from Australia
What do you know - yet another good computer. The only problem I see here is the faulty GPU.

That being said, I think #2 (Old M8) is the most worthy computer for an upgrade.

I know this is impossible to do as it would cost too much, but from my point of view, the ideal solution would be to buy this hardware: Ryzen 5 1400, AM4 Motherboard, 8GB DDR4 and GTX 1070 and then do this:
#1 Akki ‘Akatsuki’ from New Zealand would get the CPU upgrade (Ryzen 5 1400, Motherboard, 8GB DDR4).
He will then send his CPU (Core i5-2300) and motherboard to #2 Ray ‘Old M8’ from Australia (he already have 16GB of DDR3), and his 8GB DDR3 to #5 Jayden ‘Ye Ol' PeeCee’ from Australia, so he could have a total of 16GB of DDR3 memory.
#3 Carson ‘Stacy’ from the US would get a new GTX 1070 graphics card, and he would send his GTX 970 to #4 Rob ‘Cap'n Kitten’ from the US.
#4 Rob ‘Cap'n Kitten’ from the US would then send his R9 270X to #5 Jayden ‘Ye Ol' PeeCee’ from Australia to replace his faulty GTX 760.
This way everyone gets some sort of upgrade.

Well, good luck to everyone.

Oh man, Akki could probably submit his PC a second time even if he got the upgrade this time.
If he doesn't get the upgrade, I suggest taking apart that case and making it like an open test bench; it'll help with the air flow.

Gotta go with Akki on this one. Some of the people entering these contests don't seem to know what true low end hardware is. I'm certainly throwing my Q6600 gaming/backup image storage/home server/torrent/co-op N64 emulation machine in the next contest! I've been limping it along for nearly a decade now with free hardware I beg off of family/friends.

Sorry bro, but these people suffering with their unlocked Haswell i5's from 2013 need it much more than your C2Q from 2006. They're truly SUFFERING
*obvious sarcasm*
