I m considering upgrading my system starting with my graphics cards but I am wondering if the improvements will be minimal.
Radeon 4890 2GB - 256bit, 2GB GDDR5 RAM, 2.1 PCIE
I am currently running 8GB RAM and an I-7 nephalem. If I upgrade to a newer 7850 card with similar specs or even an R290 I would basically be buying access to the new DirectX with something like a 20-25% speed bump judging from some benchmarks I read over. Keep in mind I am using PCI 2.1 so I won't gain the full speeds of PCIE 3.0 in the new cards.
Will upgrading give me a worth while performance boost? Better use of money to wait till I am ready to build a new PC?
Just mulling over this info with some curiosity. Let me know your thoughts.
