Upgrading my Microsoft Suite 2006

I have Microsoft Works Suite 2006 I originally bought for my Windows XP computer and now own a Windows Vista in which I downloaded on to my Vista, but when I try to save documents they get messed up. How do I upgrade my Works Suite 2006 without paying through the nose?

You could try changing the compatibility mode of Works Suite to Windows XP.
