I doubt these will be effective against missiles. It's one thing to shoot down a plastic quadcopter, and another entirely to burn through a thick, multilayer, hi-temp ceramic nose cone. Think of the hi-temp tiles on the space shuttle. Heat will not deflect an incoming missile, for that you need an actual kinetic impact, or damage to the guidance systems.

That's largely because the West is living on borrowed money which creates a false sense of utopia, Russia does also still suffer from a lot of corruption brought about by the Soviet regime which the Germans in WW1 foisted upon them.
Are people living in debt in the west? Certainly... does that make their way of life inferior to Russia's (who are also living in debt - and in poverty!)?

As for the rest... Care to prove any of that horsesh!t?

The Germans were fighting the Russians in WWI - and the Russians sued for peace (stabbing their western allies in the back) because they were having a revolution. The terms - which they accepted - were harsh... and the west, after defeating Germany WITHOUT Russia's aid, decided Russia didn't deserve anything they had WILLINGLY ceded over to the Germans.

I hardly think anyone can be blamed other than RUSSIA for Russia's problems... alas, if you study Russian history, it basically goes from bad to worse...

To show that Russia has been a dangerous enemy since 1945? Yes, agreed...

To show anything else? Nope...

Ask anyone who has lived in Russia AND the "west" and, assuming Putin isn't holding their family hostage, they will tell you how wonderful Russia was....

I wonder if there are stats on the amount of people who immigrate TO Russia as opposed to FROM Russia...

I always enjoyed Russia. The people are exceptionally kind... once you get to know them. Russians are no-nonsense people.

Sure, there's poverty but that's the Communist legacy. Much of Putin's enormous popularity is specifically due to the dramatic improvements in Russian quality of life that he brought.

Putin's popularity is very high, around 85%. And it's not because his 'secret police' throw people in gulags.

Russia is NOT the USSR. The Soviet Union was the product of the Western backed Bolshevik coup in 1918. The goal was to permanently take out Russia as an independent nation and create a vassal state. The benefits to the West were enormous. Read 'The Best Enemy Money Can Buy' by Anthony Sutton.

Now that Russia is free of the Communist yoke, they're asserting their right to determine their own destiny. That's what the West fears. The combination of Russia and China has the power to bring the Western elites to heel. The Western war against Russia is very, very old.

You got that right! Only it wasn't just the WW1 German government that financed the Bolsheviks. It was US, British and other Western bankers. The Bolsheviks received massive financial support. The West's goal was to permanently knock Russia out of the 'Great Game of Nations'.

You can read about Lenin's return to Russia here:

As a lefty I am surprised you don't know your own history.

And I doubt that it's aimed like a game of Missile Command.
I feel safe in saying there is a very advanced targeting system.

Even ceramics have their melting point. But, you don't necessairly have to hit that point - just heat it enough to get the contained explosives to go BOOM!

And here it is:

"The LLD also includes an artificial intelligence system designed to improve tracking and targeting."

Wow... you know times must be bad if anyone is recalling the "glory days" of Reagan... his trickle-down economics are the main reason your country is in the shambles its been in for decades.

As for your nonsense about shields... assuming this actually worked (I think it's about as useful as sharks with frickin laser beams attached to their heads), all it would do is A) use your "sword" as well (after all, they aren't mutually exclusive), B) force other countries to come up with better "swords" that will bypass this "shield"... quickly making this multi-billion dollar monstrosity obsolete.

Oh... and the main reason for the Second World War? Because the "allies" decided to punish Germany for WWI instead of helping them (and everyone else) rebuild - fostering huge (and partially justified) resentment in Germany against the rest of the world... The allies learned from this after WW2 and spent billions rebuilding Germany and Japan... hence no WW3... at least... no WW3 yet...
That was France, and England ... not the US.

And the civilized world would point out to the less sharp of the planet that NATO has not started anything they became involved in. The closest they could be accused of was when they helped us with the capture of Bin Laden.

They haven't started aggression on a sovereign country by bombing Yugoslavia in 1999? Wow...
edit:if the "civilized world" is the one that only knows what shoe size they wear, I don't really care about what they think.

"The NATO offensive came in response to a new wave of ethnic cleansing launched by Serbian forces against the Kosovar Albanians on March 20."

The war started the year before. And Serbia under Milosevic was nothing more or better than terrorists. Much worse than even NATO. Just better organized and with a national base.

Deflecting.
It was civil war, and NATO, without the UN consent, attacked and bombed Serbia, illegally.
I live in Serbia, and what you were told is mostly not true. What you quoted is 100% not true, not your fault, it's a media spin. There were no Kosovar forces (those were paramilitary forces, mercenaries, trying to escalate the situation. They were on trial in Hague already. Funny that.), Kosovo was not even a Republic, their legitimate forces were Yugoslav army. They had no right to succeed. Now you can all enjoy them. Most of them can't even read.

I would like you to check the signatures on the Treaty of Versailles.... Woodrow Wilson's is right there... President of the USA....

As for the nonsense about the west backing the Communist revolution.... Of course they received funding from the west - clearly Russia wasn't going to finance a revolution against itself!! But it was not "public funding"... Lenin and company were all exiled at some point from Russia and found refuge in western nations - and received funding from the various organizations they were a part of... it wasn't like the governments of France and England spent money on this!

You realize that the west was fighting a bitter war against Germany and Russia was an important ally... why on Earth would they want Russia to have a revolution and pull out of the war?!?!!?

Wasn't there a video sometime ago showing a ufo following a missile and using some kind of beam to destroy the missile?
Nothing from an official standpoint, but unofficially, I was able to find this - not having done an in-depth search.

IMO, it is reasonable to assume that IF aliens are visiting Earth, their technology/understanding of science/physics is far in advance of the current understanding of humanity, and if the Drake equation is anywhere near reality, the probability of alien life in the universe is continually rising given that humanity is regularly discovering new exoplanets literally daily. IIRC, there are now something like 2000+ known exoplanets.

No.

I know, but my understanding is that the UN has always given NATO leeway based on the local situation.

But I do remember the videos (and they are still out there) of what was happening. It was criminal. So what do I read? I love learning this stuff. And (honest question) is it possible that what the citizens were told was not what the rest of the world was seeing due to Milosevic control over the media?

The UN is a joke.

Another junk toy from US navy...! The article missed to mention the range of the laser which is not more than 1000 feet...!

Never be surprised by their ignorance! They buy into anything the MSM spews forth like good little lemmings.
I suspect you didn’t actually read that article.... As the article states, Lenin wasn’t actually a “lefty” though he spouted communist ideals to seize power... once in charge, he was a brutal dictator little different than the Czars before him... and Stalin was even more brutal...

‘Just because a nation calls itself communist doesn’t make it so...

I believe this is the one. Thanks.
