USB Bluetooth adapter

I bought this thinking I could connect a bluetooth headset, I was wrong. What purposes does http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16833320057 this do?

It connects your PC to any other device that is Bluetooth enabled.
For instance, mobile phone. You use it to transfer files, (mp3 .jpg or video) to or from your devices.

Well, the manual says it supports hands-free profile, theoretically it should work. Did the pairing work? If it did, then check to see if the headset is set as the default device in the recording tab under audio setting.

I haven't pair a bluetooth headset to the computer before, but I'd imagine getting it to work is similar to getting a USB headset to work. Both has playback & record. I was having trouble getting my usb headset working last week. I can hear but couldn't record. Turned out it wasn't set as the default device in recording.
