USB ports not working

Hello,

I've been having some problems with the usb ports in my laptop since a few months, all of them just stopped working and they wouldn't detect my mouse or printer and so on.

As soon as I log on, about 6 windows pop up saying a new hardware has been found. when I choose to install them automatically, a new window opens saying "the software for the usb root hub has not passed the windows logo test..." or something along those lines...
I click to continue anyway, and about halfway through the installation, an error appears.

I have tried uninstalling the drives and restarting, but the same thing keeps happening.
can someone please please help??!!

What make/model is your computer or motherboard?

Also, try this (is a longshot but sometimes works when usb ports stop working)
Unplug computer from wall. If a laptop, remove battery also. Disconnect all devices. Let the computer sit a couple hours. Then hookup and try starting up again.
