USB thumbdrive infected

I dont know what is wrong with my usb thumb drive, but everytime i plug it into my computer, the icon is not the usual drive like the ones on local disk C or D, but it shows the drive as a folder. i think it has been infected by some sort of virus or something but my antivirus didn't detect it. i've run malwarebytes and sas and the result is still the same.

few days ago the folder options on the menu went missing but after running combofix, i managed to get it back.

p/s: does anyone need the HJ log to help me with this?

i'm not sure whether to put this under hardware or virus removal =_="

Avast cannot scan protected archives

after reformatting, i tried scanning my computer and my thumbdrives. i know something is lurking inside one of my thumbdrives but avast don't detect it.

and it can't even scan password-protected archives. is this normal?

what should i do?

Yes that's all normal and ok
If you unprotect the archive Avast should then be able to scan it

You may also want to scan it with Malwarebytes

i've used malwarebytes as well. still the same.

Nothing is irreplaceable
If you feel you must have the protected info on the drive, maybe have SuperAntispyware auto protecting in the background
