Use this 'Cities: Skylines' mod to fly a plane over your cities

Cities: Skylines is quickly becoming a popular Sim City alternative with a bustling community to boot. One of the latest mods for Colossal Order’s simulator is called Flight Cimulator (misspelling intentional) which allows gamers to pilot aircraft over their cities.

As demonstrated in the clip above, it’s a pretty straightforward mod although one shouldn’t expect any sort of realism in terms of physics, handling or collision detection. All you need to control the plane is a mouse and the WASD keys.

The mod’s creator, Ulysius on Stream, notes that this is a work in progress and that engine sounds, better simulation and building collisions are on the to-do list. The last bit might not be the best idea because, as YouTuber BillWarlow puts it, he already felt like he was “recreating atrocities” with the current implementation.

The mods that are coming out for Skylines are amazing, though I wish that they'd just allow achievements with mods installed instead of relying on a mod that does it (but has to be constantly updated or it stops working).

In its base form though, Cities Skylines is really, really good.

Been playing skylines myself and its 1/2 the price of Ea's simCrap and its at least 2x better than the last simcity game.

Really liking it and I haven't even used any of the mods yet.

I cannot stop playing and I dream about traffic management. My wife thinks I'm crazy, but I can think of crazier things ;-)

HAha yes! The crazy thing would be to quit the game with that massive line of backed up cars because of a small section of wrong facing one way road somewhere. Or all those corpses waiting to be picked up!
