Using a USB to find out a computers password?

  1. This might sound the same as other peoples but at the same time I have a different way of asking for this. I want to know, if I set my flash drive to boot linux without a password, would I still be able to use command prompt or some other way to find out/unlock someones computer? Or would doing this allow me to access their files while still on linux? I want to use this to check on my brothers computer because our ISP is sending emails about someone doing something on our network and he won't allow anyone to search his computer and other than me there is no one else with a computer at our house.

Really, I don't think the Question. You are asking is supported here. If the case is he won't allow anyone but you to search his computer. May I ask why he will just not let you on it.?
