Valve's long-awaited Half-Life 3 could be a Steam Machine launch title in 2026

Where are these 'reports' of HL3 coming from? Any reliable sources saying it's actually in development?

Even if they do make it, none of the original team who worked on HL and HL2 are around anymore. It will be a spiritual successor at best, but I'll temper my expectations.

I love it when I get called some poor person by someone with a massive credit utilization from a bank my family owns. Please keep financing iPhones and pretending you're well off.

Not as much as we love it when you pontificate and are absolutely wrong, in a public forum. I don't own an iPhone and have never purchased one in my life, and also have never financed anything - or have even ever had a credit card.

Just mindless behavior, yRaz. You aren't even trying here, and yet you fail. Your family doesn't own a bank, Pippy. :joy:🤣😂

Funny for who? You don't even know my first name. We can request repayment whenever we want. You owe us a tremendous sum of money

This is rad - I hope they make it PCVR compatible too cause Alyx was amazing and I'd love another one!

I hope we get to see HL3 but somehow doubt it - Why wait like 20 years after the cliffhanger in Episode 2?

Maybe they will reboot the franchise instead.

They should reboot the franchise instead, but differently. I would imagine an open world Half life with the story about the same as before, but more focused around fitting it for that open world gameplay. Imagine if they made the story deeper, with side quests based on the magnitude main missions could have had.

In game we had the story pathway in a linear way, but we left many characters behind. - What are/were they up to ? What happened behind Gordon Freeman and around his consequences? Every thing interacted with has some impact on that open world narrative.

I would not like boss fights and level up, but expanding on the depth around the story combine has settled upon Half-life residents and characters.
