Vista and xp dual mode

hi , i'm quite new into this so please try n give a step by step guide .

i used to run on windows xp (sp 1) and recently installed vista. For the past 3 months , by computer have been running on dual mode . Now i don't want vista anymore and my windows xp is not working properly. i only have a windows xp installation disc. i dont mind if some data got lost either. i really want to uninstall both vista and xp and then install xp again. plz help as soon as possible n if u want any additional info , plz ask.

If you want to get rid of everything when you reach step 7 make sure you delete the current partitions.

i tried to just insert the installation disc but vista won't let me install. it's fine if i only get to uninstall windows xp and keep vista.i tried searching the net but i can't find a step by step guide.
