This may be very easy for most of you, but I am having a problem, that needs
to be solved.

Some how it suddenly started that when I try to shut off my lap top with Vista
operating system, the default appears to be "Sleep" mode. in the options window.
I would like to change that to "Shut off" mode.

Please let me know how I can achieve that?

Many thanks.

Best regards,
Gulab

In order to change your options, complete the following steps:

Go to Control Panel \ Power Options \ Change Plan Settings \ Change Advanced Power Settings. Once you get to this dialog, browse down to “Power buttons and lid." From here, you can change the options:

Power button action – Changes the hardware power button action

Start menu power button – Changes the power button on the Start Menu

I hope this helps.

You guys are wonderful.
I wish I knew that much. I really do not know how to find anything in these embedded menus.
I guess that I am getting old.
Many thanks for helping this confused person.
Best regards,
Gulab
