Washington becomes 1st state to approve net-neutrality rules

  1. OLYMPIA, Wash. - Washington became the first state Monday to set up its own net-neutrality requirements after U.S. regulators repealed Obama-era rules that banned internet providers from blocking content or impairing traffic.

    "We know that when D.C. fails to act, Washington state has to do so," Gov. Jay Inslee said before signing the measure that lawmakers passed with bipartisan support. "We know how important this is." FULL ARTICLE

    The state is where these rules should be applied. Nationwide is too large a landscape for many laws such as this.

    Thats vey nice...after this, ISP's will no be able to block or slow-down or charge money for specific websites and content available online. All the data available on the net is same for all.
