Neutered: Federal court strikes down FCC authority to impose net neutrality rules

Isn't about tech, is about politics. Telcos are public services and because of the need for them in the current world also are critical
Then in that case, it's the DoJ that needs to enforce policy... not the FCC.

That's the thing, the FCC overstepped their bounds. If anything, the only two government agencies that have this kind of authority is the FTC and the DoJ.

Now we know you who you really are ..

No, not every country has a written constitution:

  • Countries without a written constitution
    Canada, Israel, New Zealand, Saudi Arabia, and the United Kingdom do not have a single written constitution. Instead, they have a series of laws, legal traditions, and "basic laws" that establish fundamental principles for governance.

  • Countries with constitutions
    Most countries have a written constitution that outlines the basic institutions of government, how they operate, and how to enforce and change the constitutional rules. The United States, Australia, China, and India are examples of countries with written constitutions.
Some countries use the term "basic law" instead of "constitution". For example, Oman and Saudi Arabia use this term.
Canada DOES have a Constitution. The Constitution of Canada includes the Constitution Act, 1867, and the Constitution Act, 1982.

I didn’t think the Internet could become more of a for profit jungle than it already is. I stand corrected.

Calm down. I copied and pasted. My point wasn't what countries do or don't. My point was that not every country has a constitution.

I’m quite calm. As a side note you should have started with “oops, apologies” instead of “calm down”.

The ability of Agencies to write and enforce laws prevents us from addressing grievances or injustices. Unfortunately Congress abdicated their law-making responsibilities in exchange for money from Special Interest, PAC, etc. I hope this Congress under Trump will move back in that direction.
FWIW, our Constitution was written to ensure we NEVER became an UK, Germany, Russia, France, etc. Read T. Hobbs, The Leviathan, 1661, etc.

In a very broad sense, "constitution" can refer to any foundational body of law. I.e., the body of law from which the state is 'constituted.' In that very broad sense, all rule-of-law states could be regarded as "constitutional."
The US Constitution wasn't ratified until the first ten amendments, (the bill of rights) were added. That's what sets it apart from the semantic interpretation being tossed around about, "what constitutes a constitution".

A looser interpretation could contend that Sharia law could be defined as a "constitution".

Just think, this all started in June 1215 CE, when the nobles dragged John out of his bed, interrupting him banging his 13 year old bride Isabella, and forced him the sign the Magna Carta. Basically all that did was define property rights.

Since then the role of the monarchy has become, in some part, ceremonial. Queen Lizzy did have a unique and distinctive wave though. "Here, here". 🖐️

Dream on. Just out of curiosity who is "POTUS" nowadays?

@bandit8623
@BogdanR

Ok gentlemen, at least we can agree that A, yes, Canada does have a Constitution.
And B, nobody cares about Canada's Constitution. :D
(Hoping they both know I'm joking around)
You'll be changing your tune quick enough when you become US states numbers 51 through 59... This should be sufficient to convince you that I'm just joking >> :rolleyes: :eek: :laughing:🤣

You should check European prices and quality of internet/ cell service. Romania’s internet and cell coverage is better and significantly cheaper than anything here in North America. The price I pay for unlimited 500 fibe internet, full cable TV and cell service with unlimited calling/ messages Romania wide, 10 GB LTE local / 6 GB anywhere in the EU is an equivalent of US$12. And all that is for my Mom who lives in a small country house, Middle of Nowhere, Prahova County, Romania. The rough equivalent in Richmond Hill, Ontario for similar services is US$275. And you can scream murder, for all Bell or Rogers cares.

Unfortunately my dear captaincranky, this offensive joke has run its course. With the exception of a minority of Canadian Magats we have, pretty much everyone else, our future Conservative PM included, is rather tired of it. (You may want to check Twitter for his latest remarks)
I say this quite dispassionately and without any anger whatsoever. Just FYI.
Peace!

Well, there is no such thing as "Twitter". It's now "X". Which is a platform I have never embraced, nor have I any intentions whatsoever of doing so in the future. Likewise Facegook, or Tik-tok.

When you consider whether or not a joke is "offensive", you do have to consider the source. When you consider it's coming from a devoted "libtard", with a self proclaimed abject disgust for the orange orangutan that we somehow managed to accidentally to elect co- POTUS, (and by POTUS, I mean Elon Musk), you should consider my remarks, "ironic", as opposed to "offensive".

How about if I give you a joke you can use in return? "What lies between Canada and Mexico"? Answer "Stupid".

Trust me, if I weren't living in a fully paid off, reasonably inexpensive to maintain hovel, Canada, the UK, or Australia would be my preferred ports of call.

As I mentioned, I was neither upset nor offended. My remark was a simple FYI. I’m also a center-left “libtard”. Nice meeting you!
