Hmm... maybe used games will be a lot cheaper now at retail, to make up for the small fee (if that's the case, I can't see why it would bug me much)...
haha ya right.
most of us will die of old age before that happens.

Can anyone tell me which will be the most powerful? Since we don't know that much about the processor (at least for the PS4, I have heard this is a customized Jaguar), lets just assume they are the same: I am interested in the RAM.
Will the PS4 perform better because it uses GDDR5 instead of DDR3? Will it run games better, but all the other stuff not as much?
Thanks!
I'll wait to draw any solid conclusions until E3, but this is looking to be advantage Sony at the moment. The specs of both systems, while improved, are largely irrelevant when we are talking about consoles. What's important, and where MS has apparently dropped the ball, is in the purpose of the product. Instead of making the next great gaming platform, they've created a media center. Moreover, this used game nonsense is a kick to the balls of their core audience. If they don't come out of the gates with an impressive library of exclusives the Playstation 4 will do the One what the 360 did to the Playstation 3.

Well said. I think this was well played by Sony. They waited it out! This may have angered some, but it may make a better product in the end. Also, Sony actually showed off long gameplays, not snippets like MS did. I agree with you about the xbox being a media center. They took it a bit too far. For example, I wouldnt even be able to use the xbox as a set top box since I have a DVR, and the xbox cant do that (plus it would take up too much space).
Sony did, but for some reason, the Xbox One impressed me more. Dont get me wrong here my friend, I will judge when I see the PS4, but as of now, I am liking the Xbox more. Nintendo did put effort in. I have played Nintendo consoles since the N64, and I still love them more than any other console. I just feel like Nintendo needs to reveal an updated Wii U to survive. The Wii kind of killed the business in terms of popularity among older kids. Whenever I ask friends of mine if they have a Wii (I never really do anymore), they would be like, "That is a childs console". The unfortunate demise of the name is just too embedded in the industry now. They need to change the name, and appeal to older children to gain market share. Also, no one plays a DS anymore (other than hard core Nintendo fans). Just 3 years back, every one had one.

I'm quite confused here by your comment and some other dudes previous. How did Sony wait it out? I thought they were first out of the gate(not counting Nintendo). We don't know what the PS4 looks like....and what kinda storage it will have. There is a pretty short list of question marks regarding the PS4. Can you clarify?
Sony was criticized for showing features and games but not the system. Now Microsoft for showing the system, features and glancing over the games. These reveals can't be that long or that in depth can they? At what point does it become a launch? And at what point is it a teaser? And at what point does this all become moot, and the motivation behind wasting money and time on people who just want to be heard bitching fades?
I'm excited! New systems are coming out soon! This is from someone who plays almost exclusively on the PC and that's not changing anytime soon.
All of you talking up the whole "install a game on my friend's XB1, log into my account and play" are overlooking something: the game isn't just tied to your account. Its also tied for your console. You'll have the pay for the game AGAIN to play it on a second console. Microsoft has done something amazing with the XB1: they've actually exceeded how bad I thought it would be.
This is not accurate according to what Major Nelson has said on his blog.
Scenario 1: He said that you could take the game to a friend's house, log into their Xbox with your gamertag, and play the game without having to pay a fee, but if you loan the game to them, the friend will have to pay the activation fee.
Scenario 2: Additionally, what has been reported but not clarified by Major Nelson, is if there are multiple people who have accounts on a single Xbox, they fortunately do not have to each pay an activation fee to play said game on that Xbox. There is a way of granting permission to multiple accounts on a single Xbox. How it can discern between scenario 1 and scenario 2, I have no clue.
Scenario 3: However, what is completely unclear, is what if say 3 or 4 people in a single household have their own Xbox and their own unique gamertag on each Xbox. Can they share 1 game between all consoles on each unique gamertag without having to pay 2 or 3 additional activation fees?
All I know is that this is going to be a major PITA for people who buy this Xbox.
Unless Sony comes out saying that they have a similar stance on used games, I will be buying a PS4. I have not owned a PlayStation since PS1, and have had an Xbox and Xbox 360, but it might be time to go back to PlayStation. If Sony does have restrictions on used games then, my decision is even more difficult and I might end up giving up console gaming altogether and just go solely with PC gaming.IMO the PS4 seems to be more appetizing then this "XBOX ONE" (Hate the name BTW). I might just get a PS4 instead of this.
Doesn't sound like its going to be much fun at all. I don't know if I am wrong, If I am please let me know.

I know PC has the same type of restrictions with used games, but at least on Stream and other digital distributors they typically have absolutely amazing deals on video games if you don't mind waiting a little while. Like buying every Tomb Raider game for $40 or whatever, or like a few months ago I bought Max Payne 3 and Sleeping Dogs on PC for $10 each. At launch PC games are usually cheaper anyway. Currently consoles don't even come close to this type of pricing.
