Weekend Open Forum: What next-gen console(s) are you eyeing?

Like a few others it seems, I will be waiting a while before purchasing any.
But my eye is on the PS4. Mostly due to the fact I have played on my Xbox 360 for just a few hours, and my ps3 infinitely more.
That said I no longer buy games for my PS3 just get them for free with the PSN+ now. Think the last one I bought was Portal 2, though I did get Battlefield 3 when I bought a replacement Playstation which doesnt count really as I wouldnt of bought it seperately.
I really have little interest in consoles now, and just hope more games on PC have support for the xbox wireless pad or something where a controller would be more benificial for something like GTA, because as much as some PC fanboys think that its totally awesome to use a KB mouse for it, no game with driving in should ever be done on keyboard, its just plain nasty.

thats why I use my xbox controller its plain easy :) u cant go bad with them there only 20 sterling thats 28 euros if u dont afford that but u have the pc pls take my life.

It's going to be the PS4 for me. I won't be buying day 1 though, I'll wait for the price to come down to a less shocking level and give more time for the games to start properly flowing.

At first I was thinking about the PS4 but once I found out that both the PS4 and the Xbox One will need monthly payments to play online I decided that I'd take the money and spend it to upgrade my PC.

PC: Games are cheaper, Better Graphics, More people I know are playing on a PC.

So yeah f**k the consoles because I ain't paying for the game and then paying more money to play the game online!

Possibly the PS4, but most likely not. More likely to upgrade PC hardware than to buy a console that is not nearly as good as my PC. If I do get the PS4 it will be well after it has been released (8 months to a year after). Just does not make sense to buy a console when my computer can give me better performance, better graphics, and games are cheaper.

Probably going to get the Wii U sometime in the next two years after some heavy hitters come out.

None. PC is the best. I may look into a PS4 during xmas time since I like some of the games coming out on it like Killzone.

PC is the most powerful thing......... im messing with you guys, PS4 all the wayyyy WOOOHOOO !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Il try and get the PS4, but just recently got 780, 4770k and 16gb trident x so Il probably hold off till next year, try and grab some deals. Still need 1 more HDD, WCling and u3011 ... (or xxx14) :3

I'm sure I'll eventually get an xbone to keep playing Halo with my friends, but my next gen system is my PC... got my 780 SLI and all I need now is my 4k monitor upgrade from 1440p.

Neither console really interests me, but me and my friends have a Halo night once or twice a month (and have done so for years now), and it does interest me to keep playing with them.

Putting cash down to build another PC to play FFXIV: A Realm Reborn and EverQuest Next. When I'm well into those, I'll get an Xbox One for our living room entertainment hub, probably in the spring.

Pc all the way, with Steam, Gog, and all the indie titles out there I have no need for a console.

What I look for in consoles is alternative gameplay and controls. The Wii did that with the Wiimote, the Xbox 360 with the Kinect. For now, I think these two are enough for me. The Xbox One isn't backwards compatible, which is a problem. The Wii U is an option, and is backwards compatible, but I don't see many benefits in owning it, so probably won't buy it unless I can get it for very very cheap.

Pc all the way, my cpu will last me few more years. will get rid of my radeon 6970 when the next gen graphics cards come out

PS4, but probably not until 6-12 months after it comes out. Perhaps later.

My PC will keep me busy until that time.

I'm a pc gamer, but if there is one console that draws my attention is the Wii U, Nintendo's consoles are the only ones that offer something different to my pc experience. I'm actually waiting a New Zelda game for the Wii U to get it. Ps4 and Xbox one, I don't care about them at all, not even for it's exclusive games.

I'm eyeing both. I have not seen really any exciting exclusives for Sony, but the PS4 is more the front runner for me. I still have feel a little cheater that MS is locking normally free access to software like Skype and Netflix behind the subscription wall. Sure people would that is not what people are buying Xbox for anyway. If that is the case then why even bother locking things that we already have to pay for and instead lock up exclusive functionality. In fact I would argue that there are plenty of people like me, that perhaps are not buying it for Netflix or Skype, but may not game online.

I'm not against paying for multiplayer games now... I understand the infrastructure needs to be maintained, the exclusive content brought to the platform, and the cost is not very high. Nevertheless, I honestly might have played multiplier on Xbox or PS3 a handful of times over the years, which means it is useful for me. I enjoy the single player campaigns and have been too busy to play with friends consistently. Also, I'm not big into sports. They should find another way, like serving to give me access to the stuff that is already free.

I actually did pay so I could video conference with my cousin because it was the only way that was easy for him. Times have changed... Skype, Google Hangouts, etc. on PC/Tablets and easier to use than ever. I will have to stomach the inconvenience of having to turn on another set-top box to watch my Netflix, Hulu, Amazon Prime, use the IE Browser, or even YouTube, when MS could just throw some of us that bone. The basic functionality should be free and additional interactive and-or special features should be added and are better suited to locked behind that pay-wall.

Meh, going to upgrade my PC some more, make it all SSD and add an extra 780 but appart from that the Xbone will never be purchased by me unless Microsoft buck up their ideas. If I was to purchase a next gen console this winter though it would be a PS4 for my little brother.

This month though I'm going to purchase a ps3 for the first time this gen, I've owned an Xbox 360 since release day but after 3 consoles and pretty much no decent exclusives for the past 2 years or so I'm going to play some of the extremely highly rated exclusives for the ps3 and see what all the fuss is about, kinda excited about it!

My original Xbox died on me and 2 360's died on me, third (newer design) working fine, my original ps1 and ps2 still work fine and to this day I still have my ps2 plugged in played regularly (timespliters is just too good!) without an issue, hope my ps3 serves me just as well!
