**** I still can't do it...It won't let me click on the drive to enable system restore...

Thank you dearly for your help, I wont take anymore of your time. I think i'll call microsoft to get this sorted out.

Was system restore actually enabled, or disabled, when you checked?

Also, go Start and in "Start search" type in:
rstrui.exe
Hold SHIFT and CTRL buttons, press Enter.
Will system restore open?

If still no go, see, if you can get it running from Safe Mode.

I spoke with microsoft today, they noticed that search function, system restore, and other basic windows explorer features are malfunctioning and they recommended a OS reinstall.
I think i will do that...
