What happened to my Yahoo home page?

Have used it for years, have the latest Firefox, etcetc. XP sp3
Avira, SuperAntiSpyware, MalwareBites, PC Tools Firewall Plus

Yahoo just made me go to their new email, but it seemed to be working OK
over the last several days.

Didn't change anything, now all of a sudden I get something that says it's Yahoo
but only has a listing of a bunch of things on it, no graphics, pictures, none of the usual stuff.

I didn't change anything from the last time I started it.

Did something happen to Yahoo, or ?

How do I get back to "normal"?

Thx!

Have you run Malwarebytes,SAS & Avira since? You might run them.Hopefully you're NOT infected

I'm running them "as we speak" -
also went back a couple days to a good restore point.

Checked some more in the tool bars on FFox, and all the commands
there and on the Yahoo "home page" seem to still work - history, bookmarks,
everything.

When I restored I did see a msg that something had been messing with
(registry or? I forget) and advised I do an anti spyware scan.

So, we'll see.

I was just sorta hoping Yahoo was doing something.

I'm not a computer genius, but in my honest opinion, using System Retore is not good.

Could it be anything with cookies or allowing something or other?

I've tried to make sure I'm accepting Yahoo cookies, and not blocking it in
places like NoScript and other add ons.

What puzzles me is that I didn't change anything.

And all other bookmarks and web sites seem to be acting normally.

I must have unknowingly hit some button or something that changed just
the way Yahoo shows.

I'm not familiar with or use NoScript so I don't know.
Don't accept 3rd party cookies.
Accept cookies from sites.
Other than that, I don't know.

Well, some progress.

I went into Help and restarted Firefox with add-ons disabled.

Now Yahoo behaves normally.

So I guess I'll start re-activating the add-ons one at a time until I find the culprit.

Sounds good.

Narrowed it down to AdBlockPlus

temp disabled that and now Yahoo shows normally

hopefully I can find some setting in that and keep it working,
I like what it does!

I've got adblock plus but have had no problems with it,yet. I have yahoo, too.
You might uninstall it/reinstall it and/or just update it.
Good luck:)

Yes, tried that.

Did a search, found out there are two more related apps that help
with problems like this.

Only they're so complicated you need an IT degree to make sense of
what they say.

Has something to do with lists - exclusions.

Trouble is, I can't find the links they talk about in the AdBlockPlus screen.

Oh,you must be talking about the "easy list"?
Try either this https://easylist.adblockplus.org/en/

this http://adblockplus.org/en/getting_started

here is where I got those from http://www.google.com/search?q=Conf...g.mozilla:en-US:unofficial&client=seamonkey-a
I wish you well.
