Hello everyone
I have not had this computer for very long but I have got the BSOD. I use AVG Free Version and when I open AVG up and click scan now it scans for a few seconds then the BSOD appears and the computer restarts and I have to log in again. When I start the scan again it works and completes the scan saying no threats were detected. While scanning the green bar goes to 26% and stays there for a bit scanning the registry then it skips to 51% and continuous till it finishes. I don't know what is causing it to do this but I would like to try and stop it.

Computer Specifications. Costs £449 and uses Windows 7 Professional 64 bit.

For starters, that link to "your pc specs" doesn't tell anybody YOUR specs.
They might suggest a different program, but some like & use https://www.techspot.com/downloads/4974-speccy.html
to let the helper(s) better.
You might consider using this http://www.avg.com/us-en/utilities to remove AVG & install https://www.techspot.com/downloads/223-avast-home-edition.html
or some other AV
Good luck

Actually it will if you click on "View Details" and then find the "Tech Specs" tab.

geoghoul, go to C:\windows\minidump. Minidump files have a .dmp extension. If you see any .dmp files, select them all and right-click, sending them to a compressed(zipped)folder. Upload that folder as a file here...

Do you mean the Minidump folder or dmp files in the Minidump folder and if you mean files in the Minidump folder then there is none because it is empty. Another question would Revo work just as well or better than the AVG uninstaller. Also if AVG is causing the BSOD then should I re-install AVG or get Avast. Last time I had Avast on my net book it got a ransomware virus which makes me want to just get AVG again.
