What is max. RAM value for- couple-AMD Phenom II X2 555 and Asus M4A88T-M MoBo?

Your valuable guidance is requested.

How much maximum RAM could be supported by a couple of AMD Phenom II X2 555 Processor and ASUS M4A88T-M Motherboard? And of which Frequency?

The ASUS M4A88T-M Motherboard supports Maximum 16 GB DDR3 RAM and has a Frequency range 1066 MHz, 1333 MHz, 1600(O.C) MHz, and 1866(O.C) Mhz.

But for the AMD Phenom II X2 555 Processor, I could not find any of such data.

I understand that in the system, the RAM value and specifications would also be dependent on Processor too.

Please guide me and oblige.

The X2 555 CPU only has one dual channel memory controller, so it's limited to the largest DDR3 UDIMMs which are nearly all just 8 GB in size. Hence why the motherboard states a maximum configuration of 16 GB.

Without any overclocking, the fastest RAM the CPU supports is DDR3-1333, but as you've indicated, there are plenty of motherboards that can cope with faster RAM (when using XMP).

In all honesty I would easily update from any CPU before 2017 if its aimed for gaming, if your just doing regular stuff then I guess a PHENOM is decent for youtube and stuff.
