What is your favorite PC game?

It's hard to pick a favorite - I love GTA V as a general time-killer, but in terms of plot/story (deeper ones I love to dive into & soak up) - it's a tie between Max Payne 3 and LA Noire

Some new additions since I last posted are:

INFLICTION- Incredible game where you actually feel like your in a haunted house with photo realistic graphics and very balanced pacing. Really brings home that sense of disturbing terror I feel when playing the Silent Hills PT Demo.

WOLCEN LORDS OF MAYHEM- Fantastic action rpg flowing with Dungeons And Dragons imagery with plenty of stats and modifiers running under the hood.

RED DEAD REDEMPTION- The pc port which completely delivers on all fronts with stunning execution and a soundtrack that has me swooning in a state of 1960's-70's euphoria.

I really liked the old DOS game called Ascendancy.

Sadly, it was abandoned and the AI wasnt updated properly.

Witcher 3 and Totalwar Warhammer 2. I keep going back to Totalwar, but I've never gone back to Witcher 3 cause it's just so damn huge! AC Odyssey is pretty good too. Shadow of Mordor and the Batman Arkham series deserve honorable mentions. Those are my standouts in the past few years and the ones with the most hours.

Witcher 3, Unreal, Thief 2, Dishonored 1 and 2, Need for Speed, Fifa (before Origin), Tomb Raider, Mafia, Hexen.

Well as far a game I keep coming back to I would have to say Half Life 2.
I'll play it all the way through plus the episodes every couple of years.
Skyrim and the Fallout series are a close second.

Lately Borderlands 2. Surprising great humour in this shooter and lots of variation and excellent levels/maps

I have not played Borderlands 2 but I agree that humor goes a long way in making games more fun to play. The Outer Worlds had some good humor in it.

I will have to give Outer Worlds a try. Another great humour game was Dead Rising 4 and even Far Cry 4 was also fun if you got 2 particular sidekicks. =)

Best to approach with no expectations whatsoever, especially in light of it being made by Obsidian. I had high hopes for it but found it to be all very underwhelming.

I know what you mean, I haven't finished yet and it seemed to get redundant. The npc's conversations did make it more enjoyable though. Tho I plan to, I never did finish the game and it may be a while before I do. Either my mobo is going or my cpu, it really sucks. I'm limited to just streaming movies and checking my e-mail.

This is such a hard question to answer... one in which I'm sure I'll be ashamed of my answers if I ever look back at this thread. I also can't think of just one PC game that I can call my all time favorite so here goes a few:

Might and Magic V - Clouds of Xeen
Might and Magic VI - Darkside of Xeen
Might and Magic ? - World of Xeen
Final Fantasy XI
Mirror's Edge
Quake II
Dragon Age Origins / Awakening

Edit: Things I forgot the first time around
Eye of the Beholder
A-10 Tank Killer
Mechwarrior
10 years later I've got to update my list with some new additions. Favorite PC game is now The Witcher 3. The Division 2 is also quite high on my list as is Final Fantasy XIV. Path of Exile should probably also be included somewhere. The rest is still the same. Oh yeah, the Tekken series made it onto PC so I'll add Tekken 7 as well.

All-time favorite PC game has to be Command & Conquer: Tiberian Sun: Firestorm. Full Stop.

I am currently on a Civilization VI kick.

Fallout 2 forever <3 - If some of you kind of old dated - knows it - all secrets, all endings.....then...you find out that most of new RPG games are not even close to it after so many years....

In my Opinion only The Witcher 3 gets so close about decision made and Cyberpunk 2077 - but never beat that freedom, random gameplay, random finish, random all.....impressive after so many years.....

FALLOUT 2

...War.....Never changes.....

True, alot of them are about graphics but some games like Final Fantasy actually have good graphics and good story lines. So there are some out there that can be good but not as much anymore sadly lol. (>'-')>

I never heard of those games before and I am also a big fantasy RPG player. I'll take a look at those sometime to then. =^~^=
Fallout 2.... War...Never changes...... :)

It's hard to say because while I find Assassin's Creed: Odyssey the most fun, I consider Starflight and Starflight II: Trade Routes of the Cloud Nebula to be the greatest triumphs in PC game history.
