Whats with firefox?

Worst case you loose DNS, but as a default, you can run with just the one line:
  • 127.0.0.1 localhost localhost.com

It's odd to me, these FF issues? I have a number of MS machines running (both real & VM) & my son also runs Win 7 (his thing is to have so many tabs open at once that he has a massive side-scroll- lol) and we have none of this. He said he thought FF was a "bit laggy"-- but given the above, it might be the 25 tabs.... :p

It's only an aside, but my main PC (Mint) just never has any issues- at all. The MS machines I keep are there strictly for testing issues my clients run up against (such as this one). However, as I have no trouble on any of them, I can't be of much service other than to say it's likely a specific issue on your machine.

Perhaps a Revo uninstall of FF, an sfc /scannow in safe mode, followed by a chkdsk /f. Then, reinstall FF (from ninite.com). They'll have the most current & it'll install automatically.

Oddly enough I have done a few revo uninstalls. I don't usually have 25 tabs open, but I do have hundreds & hunfdreds of bookmarks. Perhaps I'll dump the bookmarks & try that, first :)

Just back-up your FF profile folder to the desktop & do a clean reinstall of FF. That ought to show if it's a corrupt profile or something else within Windows.

Cheers

.
That's where I started too, but as the symptoms only arose with the updated version of FF, it was clear that FF was at fault. Now on 49.0.1 with all add-ons disabled and the browser behaves as expected. I'll re-enable them 1/1 and see what happens...

Choose your poison here, then?

Cheers :)

Edit: I've double-checked & all of my MS machines are at 49.01 & working fine. FYI.

Well, Sort of. It's Mozilla Firefox, an open-source web Browser. They did start to create an OS, but have since stopped and abandoned that project.
