Why has my pc not yet installed the win 10 creator's update?

I have critical updates enabled, but it is still not installed. Update status says up to date, but there is still the message on that same window below that says "Good news! The Windows 10 Creators Update is on its way. Want to be one of the first to get it?" My build version is 1607 which is pretty old I think.

I kinda haven't pushed the issue for a couple reasons. 1 is because I have heard many gamers say the update caused a plethora of issues for them and the other reason is that I have my install so tweaked and tuned and I hear the update resets a ton of stuff and is almost like doing a fresh install.

Any advice anyone can give would be much appreciated so thanks in advance for guidance.

Hi Here's the best advice I can give you. I always give this advice to every Window user that asks those kind of questions.
Learn how to use a 3rd party image program like Macrium Reflect. Create a backup image of your OS, so that you can restore your PC back exactly like it was the day you created the backup image. Then go here https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windows10 Then click on "Update Now" You will get the latest W10 build.
Let us know how things go.

Thanks for the information. I guess that leaves me with this question: What if I do nothing, like just let Windows do whatever it's going to do based on my current config and settings?

Hi You could do that. Did you watch the video in the link I provided? It gives a lot of information about the 'Creator'
That's the best I can do for you. Having backup images of your OS makes you a fearless Windows user.(y):D
