Wifi adapter not recognised on my laptop

Hello,

My laptop is a Samsung series 5 ultra. I've had this problem for ages. There are no WiFi capabilities on my laptop. I've tried looking in device manager and I couldn't find a wireless network adapter, only an Ethernet adapter. It used to be able to connect to wireless networks and it has twice when I have switched it on, it powers on with the adapter working. But then, I power it on again and it just turns to the same "no Ethernet cable plugged in" symbol. There are no WiFi options, no way I can 'switch it on'. Also, the WiFi button that is on my laptop is a function button, and I have tried pressing it and seeing if my adapter is enabled/comes to life, but never works.

Any help would be greatly appreciated,

Sonny :)

The spec shows:
  • Wireless Protocol
    802.11a/b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0
so the issue is likely you're missing the driver for the internal wifi chip
