Hi I have a acer aspire 5630 with windows xp home
I ran spybot and it deleted a bunch of stuff then said it had to restart and clean up the rest of them on boot up so i said yes rebooted and now wont start up goes into windows desktop then kicks me off right away same thing in safe mode into desktop then kicks me off it is my friends laptop and he never built a boot disk when he bought the computer so i cant even put it in and try repairing windows any thoughts thanks

Sounds like a faulty userinit.exe file, or registry entry to it

Try this:

1.- Get into the recovery console (with boot disks, you can get them from microsoft page, even use the Ultimate Boot CD)

2.- Get the file userinit.exe from another NOT INFECTED computer. (located in windows/system32 folder)

3.- Overwrite the userinit.exe original file (from the infected computer) with the new one (use a cd or disk to transport it) (COMMAND: COPY e:/userinit.exe c:/windows/system32/userinit.exe)

Note at this stage it may work
If not try the following:

4.- Rename the userinit.exe to wsaupdater.exe

5.- Exit
