Wireless router to wireless router

I have a wireless router downstairs and i want to hook up my Xbox 360 to the internet but instead of spending a hundred bucks for the wireless receiver for the 360 can i use another wireless router upstairs to receive the signals from the wireless router downstairs? Pretty much can a wireless router pick up signals from another wireless router?

Yeah I believe so, when you tell one of them to search for access points it should find the other wireless router/network.
