Hi Folks,

I've got a computer running XP SP2. I'm not sure what kind of wireless card is in it.
Here's the rub... For some reason it doesn't support wireless networks running WPA encryption... I downloaded the patch from microsoft in hopes of getting WPA encryption to cooperate, but I get an error stating that the computer's already got SP2 and should work with WPA - which it does have SP2 but DOES NOT work with WPA.

Help's appreciated.

NO ON XP/SP3!!!

First, WEP is very weak -- it has been shown to be easily cracked by someone setting
outside at the curb.

Second, if WPA will not work, did you try the WPA2 alternative.

Please state your hardware mix, ie: the router vender/model and the wireless adapter make/model.
Frequently WPA can be a challenge when mixing venders. Be sure tp get the latest
firmware for the router and update the driver on your wireless adapter.

I assume a non-encrypted and maybe even a WEP connections are fine -- just WPA
has issues.
