A bit of normal back and forth e-mail exchange between myself and Yahoo Messenger customer service. Hopefully after reading this you too can answer the ancient question "Yahoo Customer Service. Does It Exist?" Oh, my responses are in bold and italics

What can we help you with?

Issue: A Messenger Sign-In Issue
You have been disconnected from chat because you have signed
into Yahoo! Messenger from another computer or device.I get this
all the time. I don't use Messenger. I don't have Messenger
installed on my system. I've never had messenger installed on this
computer. Can you explain this to me please. I want to make sure this is
not a security issue I need to address. I get this message when I'm
in my mail plus account. In the Tell us more about your computer:
section I put Messenger 10 because it required an entry. But I
reiterate. I don't have messenger installed. Nor do I want to.

2. Tell us more about your computer:
-------------------------------------
Messenger Version: 10
Internet Connection Type: T1/LAN
Which Version of Internet Explorer is Running on Your System?:
Internet Explorer 8
3. How may we contact you?

Haven't you people learned about bad customer service looses customer.
Answering twice with a form letter response to any technical problem
will only get you posted in forums on the bad joke problem companies
boards. Jesus Christ. Just friggin' forget about it! I'd love to have an
address to forward this to management!

Dude! I don't even have Messenger installed on this rig. I never use it.
So how can I be signed in anywhere? My concern is a security one. I
don't need the kind of grief that would come down if some chester the
molester type is using my sign in to lure in kiddies or some such s**t!

I understand that while using integrated Chat in Yahoo! Mail Classic,
you are receiving a message that says, "Disconnected because you have
logged on from a different computer or device." I apologize for any
inconvenience this has caused.

This is a technical issue, and not someone accessing your account. Our
Engineering Team is working on a fix for this now.

Not one ****ing person has read this. Not the original message, and not even one of my replies. This is THE MOST incorrigible bullshit behavior I have ever had to deal with. Not one person has even grasped what I'm saying let alone bothered to read any of my responses. Even the title of Re:Internet Explorer 8 has nothing to do with what I'm talking about. How do you manage to even exist as a business with this despicable lack of care in your customer service department. All I can seem to count on is your response of "I'd like to first apologize for the delay in my responding to your inquiry" and of course the inevitable "our engineers are working on your problem" response. No one has read it how do they know what the problem is so as to know where to direct their "engineers"? Man I tell you. This is sad dude, major sad. I guess you just figure I'll just eventually give up? Ya, now there's a creative business strategy. Oh by the way I'm posting this series of messages and responses in it's entirety on all the forums I use. Although I'm not sure if it should go under problem products, general technology, or the joke corner.

EDIT: I still wonder why it says re: IE 8? When was this conversation ever about IE8?

Yahoo customer service. Does it exist?
Almost certainly NOT!

It's 99% chance that a human never laid eyes on any of your text messages!

(At best, maybe someone did just to spot check 1 of every 100 messages to see how the computer was doing in auto-replying to people sending messages)

I think that's worse (and more frustrating) then having NO customer service at all (as i'm sure you would also attest!)

I just received a reply to my obscenity laced tirade that was my latest reply. I won't post the whole thing, but it started like this:

"Before I go into addressing your concern, I'd like to first apologize
for the delay in my responding to your inquiry. We are committed to
answering your questions as quickly and accurately as possible. However,
we are currently receiving unusually high volumes which caused the

Un-friggin' believable! lol

Good call.
Moral of the story: no, yahoo doesn't.
